Call for Papers

The call for papers is now open for the III International Hermeneutics Conference “Hermeneutics at the intersection of cultures: polyphony and rewriting”, to be held in Buenos Aires, 3 – , 4 and 5 July 2013. As a prelude to the conference, will be held the First Symposium on Logic Hermeneutics: artifact, work and speech on July 2. Both events will be held in the National Library, Agüero 2502.

The thematic axes of the Conference are:
1. The problem of sameness and otherness in hermeneutical philosophy: the strange, the stranger, the foreigner
2. The question of sense and nonsense in the semantic structure of textuality (philosophical, literary, artistic, cinematic, etc.).
3. The elements of ‘agony’ and ‘conflict’ in classical and contemporary hermeneutical proposals.
4. The intercrossed dimensions of the visible-invisible, writing-reading, and listening-hearing.
5. Hermeneutics between Romanticism and Enlightenment: tensions and differences.
6. Baroque and Neo-Baroque in its many dimensions (political, philosophical, cultural) in the Ibero-Latin American and Caribbean context.

Languages
Spanish, English, Portuguese.

Abstracts must be sent to resumenesjornadas@proyectohermeneutica.org until 24 May with the subject ‘summary’. Abstracts must include:
-Paper title
-Author’s full name, postal address, email address and phone number.
-Thematic axis in which the paper is included. The Academic Committee will decide on its scientific and thematic relevance.
-Institutional affiliation
-Maximum length 300 words. Times New Roman typeface, size 12.
The result of the evaluation of the summary will be announced by 30 May.

Papers must to be sent to resumenesjornadas@proyectohermeneutica.org until 30 June with the subject ‘paper’.
-Title of the paper in bold lowercase
-Below (without spacing), full names of authors; for multiple authors, please use commas. Next, in brackets, institutional affiliation.
-Below (with spacing), the main body of work.
-Maximum length: 3500 words, including footnotes and bibliography page.
– Body of Work: Times New Roman 12. Footnotes page: Times New Roman 10, single-spaced, justified margins, A4, all margins of 2.5 cm.
-Dating-System according to APA standards: the footnotes are used only to make clarifications to the text. The references in parentheses next to the quote (quotation marks) in the following order: author, year edition of the book and page number.
– Quotations of more than four lines are in a separate paragraph, without quotation marks, by indenting of 2 cm. the entire paragraph.
-References at the end of the work under the title ‘References’.

TMaximum length for readings in committee will be 12 minutes. Papers shall be published in digital format. When sending the paper, you must complete the registration form.
